Oh, how He loves us

Remind me again, O God, how you love us.

Remind the girl whose value was defined by rape and prostitution, whose parents never cared, whose owner called her a slut when all she ever did was work hard.

Lord, remind me again how you love us.

Who loves the weak and the sick of heart and who cares for the uncared for? Who travels the journey with the young woman mutilated and carries the weight of her family at eight? And who can comfort the privileged woman who learns about despair and abuse but is unable to change their circumstances?

Remind me again, Oh God, how you love us.

For your love is deep and your love is wide; but who can grasp it and who can experience it? And who would believe it? Shape us, mold us, brace and embrace us. How great is your love and how great is the hole inside. Guide and direct, to safety and care. Only you remain.

Remind us again, oh God, how you love us.
